Giveaway #2 - Bittman's book

Ok, so you weren't into the Gucci thing. Go figure. I thought maybe high-end silk shirts would be more popular, but I guess your taste is all in your mouth. Hey now! THAT wasn't very nice!! (I'm joking. Someday we will go into my long annoying theory of why people buy designer goods).

So here is giveaway #2. I am going to regret this one, because shipping will kill me, but what the heck.

This is a hardbound copy of Mark Bittman's fabulous (and very, very large) "Best Recipes in the World." Bittman is the popular NY Times writer of "The Minimalist" column in Wednesday's food section.

The rules remain the same: Leave a comment and it will count as a vote. One comment per person. If you link back to this post, you get three entries total. Winner will be drawn at random on Friday, July 13.

Good luck!

PS - I am just giving things away to avoid bitching endlessly about the continuing nightly fireworks that are causing Goldie to lose her little doggie mind. What is WRONG with people?

I don't have a blog or a website, so I miss out on the 3 for one deal. But! I am a faithful reader and sympathizer. Am sure if I had a blog I'd be gritching way too much, as there are just so many things that really do annoy me. Got off light with the fireworks issue though. My cousin's daughter did come out with some friends and some fireworks, but I think my dog just thought they were more poachers. She barked, but didn't freak. Nice. And the kids were only out one night and didn't go too late, so I can't really complain. And they called to let me know what they were going to do. How nice was that?

This one looks like a nice prize. I didn't comment on the shirt because it wouldn't remotely fit me.

Sorry about poor Goldie. I'm so glad people don't seem to be setting them off here any more (knock wood).

people have a tendency to light fireworks around my apartment building (because i live by the train tracks?) all summer long, but luckily they seem to have mostly subsided. i'll probably regret posting that & jinx myself when i try to go to bed tonight.
book looks like a wonderful prize. :)

Damn I love a good recipe! Count me in!

By the way-please do enlighten the world with your theory on why people buy designer goods. I'm pretty sure it's the same as my own.

*My neighborhood has banned fireworks because of all the trash nobody bothered to pick up and damage to the main building :o)

Yay for books! Also, send it Media Mail. Won't cost $2, even.

People are still lighting off fireworks? Really? Wasn't American Independence day like almost a week ago? Some people! Don't they realize how annoying/dangerous it is?

Oooh, I love Bittman, and use my "How to Cook Everything" by him all the time! I also collect cookbooks, because, well, I like food better than anything.

Yes, media mail is the way to go.

Oooooh, cookbook!

The shirt was beautiful, but no where remotely close to my size.

I too, like grandma bob, do not have a blog or website, but I am a faithful reader :o) I thought the shirt was fabulous but alas, not my size... I sympathize with you about the fireworks, I am fortunate in that where I live, we didn't have any go off. My Nala-dog thought it was a day like any other... necatonAThotmailDOTcom

Ok you got me with this one. But if I win, since I'm all the way in Canada, I'll foot the postage. Deal? Or, you could give to me at Blogher since you promised we'd meet. :-) Linking in.

I can't believe they're STILL doing fireworks.

We live a half a mile from a university, so it's not uncommon to hear fireworks for no obvious reason...other than the possibility that there's yet another drunken fraternity/sorority event taking place. Or a sporting event. Poor Goldie. It's not her fault that there are idiots nearby who overextend their celebration of our country's independence. A pox on them.

WTF? Why are people still setting off fireworks? Call the damn cops already.

Can you tell I am cranky? If I happen to win (not) you can give me the book at BlogHer, K?

Well in my case, the shirt was too small so that wasn't an option. ;)

I'm a cook book slut, so I'll comment AND link.

The shirt wouldn't have fit over my arm, sadly. 'cause I is a fat arse....

Poor Goldie. We live in a neighborhood where we are by far the youngest residents, so no fireworks, but we DO have people who walk their dogs with golf carts.
