Say a little prayer for Doug

Cousin Doug Pitches
My cousin's son Doug Davis, a major-league pitcher for the Diamondbacks, is facing cancer surgery tomorrow. He pitched, and won, last night:
Davis, one of the most popular players on the team, obviously had the support of the fans and from his teammates, who mobbed him in the dugout and urged him back out on the field at the close of the top of the sixth to doff his cap and take a curtain call as the 28,973 in the house recognized the magnitude of the moment.

A prayer, a good thought, or whatever it is you do, would be appreciated.

We are huge fans and he will have all of our thoughts and prayers. We take our players' health very seriously and we love them as if they were relatives. Please let him know how much we appreciate him! Hubby and 3 kids will be at Satuday's game. Please let Doug know that we are thinking about him and your entire family; and we are wishing him a speedy recovery!

Doug has the family "tough guy genes". He will be fine.

I am keeping him in my prayers.

SueBob, it was really great to meet you last night at the bossy gathering. Good food, good drinks, good company of fellow bloggers. Can't get much better.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I've been praying for Doug and will continue to pray for him. While the prognosis for full recovery from thyroid cancer is very high, it's still cancer and it's still scary.

My surgery is Monday, the 14th.

My hubby and I are big Diamondbacks fans! Let Doug know there are fans out there who really do know what he's going through!
