Eight years in eight minutes

The other day, a supermarket cashier asked me if I had all three days off this weekend.

"Yes," I said. "And on Tuesday, we inaugurate a new president, so it will seem like another holiday."

"Oh, so you're anti-Bush, are you?"

"Of course," I answered. "Our long national nightmare will finally be over."

"I don't understand what your problem with him is," he said.

I wish I had had this video to show him. It is over 9 minutes, but I was sick and tired by about minute 3.

I'm with you. I got to a minute and 48 seconds, then I had to shut it off.

I saw this when it aired the other day and I could feel my blood pressure rising.

I cannot WAIT until Tuesday. Can. Not. Wait. I will mostly be sitting on the couch, grinning thru my tears.

I saw this-I heart Keith o. This doesn't boil my blood as much as Dick Cheney's interview where he arrogantly says,"So!?" in repsonse to a question about the position 2/3 of us have regarding the Iraq war.

I wanted to reach through my television and slap him.

The problem with people like your cashier is that the Karl Rove(who I think might be a spawn of Satan)neocon warhawks encouraged pushing around a devisive idea that if you disagree with Bush, then you must hate America. And for a long agonizing time it worked to scare voices of dissent. To me divisive tactics are UnAmerican and I'm not sorry to see them OUT of our White House. I live in the Reddest of Red zones, but today at church when a special prayer was given for our next president, it was the loudest Amen I ever heard and that gives me something to smile about....

I've been waiting for this Tuesday for 8 years.

I don't understand it. I read about right wingers who are upset at the inaugural festivities. What do they think a new president should do, don sackcloth and ashes? They are upset about the balls and the concerts. hello, isn't this what every president does? Why is it NOT important to celebrate a new president, regardless of his party?

OTOH - George, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

The cashier must not watch the news. Or pick up a paper, or read a magazine. Funny thing is, I'm sure he already has reasons to hate Obama.

I find it funny that people are still defending the man. When you look at how far our country has fallen in the past eight years, there is no way in the world to like the man.

One day too go. :)

Don't you love when people ask such simpleminded questions? HAVE YOU BEEN ASLEEP FOR THE PAST EIGHT YEARS???????

What makes me saddest about your conversation is that the cashier was probably hurt by him (economically, anyway) worse than you, and yet he could not understand why someone would not like Bush. It pretty much sums up why America is in the situation that it is.
