Sick of myself? I LOVE myself!

It was a simple Twitter comment by my twit-friend sixuntilme:
"Fiance leaves tonight for an out-of-state shoot. I have early morning appointment. I sense tomorrow will be grumpy."

Stopped me in my tracks.

All of a suddenly (that's a phrase first written by Jeff, a high-school friend in a story in our creative writing class) I realized something: I can't IMAGINE being grumpy because someone left.

Someone leaving is GOOD. Someone leaving means I get to be ALONE, which is great for me.

My ex- used to travel about 15 days a month on business. No problem. More time alone! I was always chagrined when he came home.

Oh, God, I'm even less normal than I pretend to be. I am a major freaking fracking freak. No wonder I haven't even considered dating lately. As Garbo said "I vant to be left alone." That is so weird, isn't it?

Last night my husband was out playing poker. I made his lunch for the next day, set the coffee, emptied the dishwasher, made myself a snack and as soon as I sat down to eat it, guess who walked in the door? I think I sighed audibly, and thought to myself, next time I will eat my snack FIRST. Fortunately he had eaten and didn't swoop in...time alone is GOOD.

I love being alone too. I have to remind myself sometimes that if I am too loud about it, BF might go away for good, but I sure do enjoy those nights when he has plans.

Not weird at all. I love my husband to pieces and we have a good marriage. But I don't get all depressed and moody when he goes somewhere (he rarely does). I love it when I have some time to myself.

You are a strong confident woman who enjoys her own company. What's weird?

I hope it's not weird to love alone time. If so, AM WEIRD. I rejoice at any opportunity to spend an evening all by my lonesome.

Oh I love to be alone. Love. I need it, in fact, and adore when Adam travels for a couple of days, because alone time with wine! Sushi! Indian! Girl movies! YES!

I looooove it when my husband goes out of town. I eat the food he doesn't like, watch the channels I want to watch, hog the covers, keep the alarm clock off ... blissful.

If it's weird at least you have company. I am the same way.

It's funny - I couldn't wait to move in with the new man. As much as I like my alone time, I just couldn't wait to spend every free moment with him. Funny how that passes - quickly! Don't get me wrong - I love Dan to pieces, but in this too small apartment, I relish the nights he works so that I can watch something intelligent on TV. OK, intelligent is a stretch - how about something not ridiculous and not sports.

I value my alone time. Maybe because I don't experience it often enough!

I used to hate being alone. Now I looooove it. I wish I had more alone time.

One of my fave quotes - "I have a great deal of company in my house; especially in the morning, when nobody calls." - Henry David Thoreau. I'm with ya, sister.

when i was single before, i love-love-loved being alone! then, when i met s, i slowly realized that even more than i liked being alone, spending time with him was better. even if it was just him in the other room on the computer & me in bed reading a book. now that i'm single again, i don't relish the alone-time quite as much, but it's always a treat! maybe it just shows how not right for you the ex was that you liked being alone so much. ;)
also, i think your word verification is trying to thwart me. yhgyoybd

I get giddy about the thought of time alone. I always liked being alone and it's something I really miss. And took for granted.

I work away from home during the weekdays and come home on the weekends. Although I really don't mind being alone during the week --I am working on a graduate degree and use the down time for studying -- the thing I look forward to most during the week is going home to my sweetie. I very much agree with my husband when he says that the one thing he looks most forward to in retirement is spending more time together.

My friend Steph loves being alone, too. She always says her ideal relationship is with a pro athlete, as they will earn lots of money and never be home. Sorry to disappoint you, but I do not think you are that freaky.

Well, Suzanne, that "not freaky" comment is coming from YOU. Ha!

Yeah, well... :)

There are times when I think that among all my friends and relatives, I am my own best company. At least, I never offend myself, and if I do, I'm not afraid to tell myself off for it.

When I go away (rare) I'm happy at first but miss him terribly in very little time. He's the first person I've felt that way about ever. (I'm almost 40)

My first husband thought I was being extra nice when I let him sleep in every weekend. In actuality, I didn't want him to wake up at all! LOL!

I just stumbled upon this entry, but I also just looked at the date on that entry. :) I was newly engaged. Of COURSE I was all mushy-missing him.

Ask me today how I'd feel. ;)
