This house
A one bedroom, one bath, 576 sq ft I-kid-you-not quonset hut built in 1948 and presently located on a really ugly street is $379,000. Marked down from $390,000.
It's hard to see in the picture, but it is made of corrugated metal. This I have seen with my own eyes.
So enjoy where you are, and come here on vacation. I will take you to the fun places.

crazy. and what for i wonder? in my neck of the woods, that could get you a 4 bd., 2 1/2ba., with kitchen, dining, living, and 8 acres. saw it the other night online. it's kinda out in the sticks, but hey...... come visit and i'll show you all the sights too!
A real quonset hut? Because some brand-x quonsets are not made with the galvanised corrugated metal, and then they rust. So it might not be that great of a deal...

Yeah, keep your ocean views and warm weather. I'll just visit, and then go back to my under $150K 4-bedroom house in cold, landlocked Ohio. :)

Man! You could get a Huge house for that in my neighbourhood. No Ocean near by though. Only a very very large river. For a Trailer it's maybe 55 thousand. I would have to check on MLS.com

That house looks like a real find. Maybe I'll move.
It is in Ventura, about a mile and a half from the beach...in a "neighborhood in transition" (read: gradually being taken over by hipsters) after being blighted for about 30 years.

I live in CA too. The prices are ab-so-lutely shocking. And I haven't seen much of a decline yet.
At least you can find something for under 1M there...even if it is a little hut. I'm afraid if we ever lost this house that we'd not be able to afford another one here. Oi.
