Do not help me out like this again, okay?

Today I started taking the plastic off a bunch of dry cleaning I had picked up and found this:

They found my gloves in my jacket pocket, removed them and dry cleaned them, put each on an individual hanger and charged me $3 EACH GLOVE.

Yes, I am a dope for leaving my stupid $1.99 magic gloves in my jacket, but I think they are jackasses for not just setting them aside. Do people normally have cheap, pilly gloves dry cleaned? Am I too sensitive?

I'm sorry, Four Seasons Cleaners. It has been nice, but I don't think we can see each other anymore.

Oh yes, I would definitely break up with them. That had to have been someone's idea of a joke, a really bad one.

It's nice of them to assume you want it done.

That's akin to legal stealing. It may not be wrong, but it isn't right.

Sorry to laugh at your expense, but that made me chuckle.

...$1.99 pilly magic gloves. I have a few pairs of those as well, and I can tell you, I would not spend the money to dry clean them. In fact, I don't think I have ever washed them. At a buck 99, aren't they disposable? haha

That is probably their little gold mine in the winter. I am sure you are not the first to leave gloves in the pocket.

I am just curious how cold it is in Southern Cal when you break out THE GLOVES?!!!

All kidding aside, that is shitty. But it did make me laugh.

QT - the gloves were probably for the office air conditioning, not outside!

That's just crazy!

You're not too sensitive. That's ridiculous!

I remember now why I never dry-clean ANYThing.

That's just plain obnoxious. I think I'd have tried to argue my way out of the dry cleaning fee for the gloves.

I don't even think I wash mine. Let alone dry clean them. What a rip off.

That is soooo wrong. I would have tossed those.

:)

That would annoy the shit out of me.

I love that they put them on individual hangers for you. That's just the right touch of shittiness.

You know what I think? I think they should have dry cleaned them for friggin free to show appreciation for you as a customer...
Oh who am I kidding. Customer service died some time ago, may it rest in peace.

They are either dumb as rocks or jerk-rip-off'rs! Either way I'm glad your broke with them.

How much did they charge you to dry clean the used Kleenex and Velamint from 1994?

Deb Rox said...

I would take them back and complain that they really weren't cleaned to your standards and that you need your money back.

Great comments!
This is an abusive relationship. I'm so happy you broke up with them.

I'm sorry you got stuck with the bill, but I really enjoyed your post! I'm still laughing about it...

You guys crack me up. And Kristen, you're right, they are too horrible to wear, but sometimes you need those emergency back-up gloves.

Oh no way! That is too ridiculous.

I just don't get people. What the eff?

Oooooooooooh damn.

I had a mechanic like that once... All of their taking the liberty of doing something, not telling you and then charging you gets expensive. Aggravating.

Yes, you "breaking up" with your dry cleaners is definitely a good idea.

Dear gods, the idiocy!

Jennifer said...

Ha! That's just all sorts of wrong! And putting them individually on hangers seems a smidge excessive.

Tere each hung on their own hanger? That's hilarious! I wonder what they would have done if you had left an old balled up tissue in your pocket.

Hmmmm, maybe you could put these gloves on Ebay, become a famous blogger because of it and go buy gloves fancy enough to be dry cleaned!!!

Stupid dry cleaners.
