I'm driving back roads on my way up to my old town. I am sitting in a cafe in Los Olivos, a town my dad's family helped found in the 1800s. I love California in the springtime when it is all green. It doesn't last long, so we enjoy it while we can.
Los Olivos is the coolest. My husband regularly scouts Figueroa Mountain Road for commercials. I always feel a little like I've died and gone to heaven when I'm in that part of the world. The wildflowers should be popping any day now...

I love the smaller towns in California - you are so lucky to live there.
Smalltown GA is beautiful as well, but the residents can diminish the beauty.
