My dog makes me believe in God. She is such a wondrous creature, so beautiful, so perfect and so full of love. When I see her, I know God exists - like the song says "I know God's real for I can feel him in my soul."
What makes you know God is real? Don't say your kids - I KNOW THAT. Obvious. What else?
Ps It is National De-Lurking Week. Don't make me beg. One comment is all I ask. Is that begging? Ok, it is. But still, comment and make me happy.

oh how weird! mine is a smell too - almond paste/oil etc.
ooohhhh. and the taste of cilantro.
Goldie has God in her name: GOlDie! So she has God within her, quite obviously.
The sublime music of the Ramones reminds me that there may be a divine being.
If you already comment, are you really delurking?
Dogs aren't gods?
I think calling us lurkers is rude. Non-resident authors? And if you 'd leave the lights on we could be doing something constructive...
My own original creations make me know God exists - anything I write or craft or build that I didn't know I could do, that somehow came out of me without me knowing the potentional to make it was there. Creativity. It's God-powered.
How did I find you? During this year's BlogHer blog strolls. Why did I add you to my bloglines subscription? Because I so often relate to comments you leave at QofS's blog.
Chocolate. Chocolate is totally proof of God's love for us.
(Hey, if I'm not allowed to use my kids, I have to go to my second-favorite thing in the world....)
My kids...awww crap.I can't use that.
Dogs..crap again.You used that.
Well, I just don't know..
Beautiful flowers. And the periodic table of elements. Seriously, the way everything fits together--must be God.
My cat, sunrises/sunsets, the gorgeousness of trees in every season, and the glorious, every-changing skies.
Being in the sanctuary of nature. Looking up into the sky. Hearing the echo of laughter. Seeing the beauty everyday, even in the absurd chaos of motherhood. And silence. Although, I could go on and on.
Thanks for that. It's nice to be challenged to slow down and think about such an important question. What a great way to start the day.
Oh, and I'll be linking to this post later at Picture This. : )
Well, I don't really believe in God, but the closest I come is when I listen to Mozart.
the frailty of life.....
our lives, our bodies are such a complex cascading of different cause and effects, different systems dependant and independant of others........just life, and how we really tick. it's pretty amazing when you really think about it.
I don't know that I have anything that *makes* me know that God exists. I just do.
Memories of my grandparents and the sound of birds. The sea. Sounds corny but that's it for me.
Is it really de-lurkig week?
De-lurking, but I've commented before, so not sure if that counts.
You know how sometimes, when it's cloudy but there are rays of sun beaming down, touching the ground? My mom always used to call those "God Rays."
Just wanted to tell you that. :)
Hello, here I am delurking. My hubby is in the military and is currently stationed in Japan, we have been all over the world and for me, I believe in God when I travel. It always amazes me that no matter where we go people are kind. Basic human kindness, it is everywhere!
You know when you meet someone, and after a short while it feels like you've known each other forever?
Or when you have a friend, and you go for AGES without talking or seeing each other, and then when you reconnect it's like no time has passed?
That connection, that magical link between us as humans. That's what makes me believe God exists. (and kids and pets, too, of course.)
How about my kid interacting nicely with my dogs? Any time she's not hitting them one of them over the head with a wooden spoon, that's heaven.
I had some of my own, but then I read everyone else's and they were all so good that I forgot mine.
Everything.
Thanks, everyone. Your ideas were lovely and touching.
Delurking. Read via RSS.
A really good dance with a good partner.
Hi! Not delurking, so much as I am commenting for the first time, as I only came across your blog this week. :)
I'd have to say that what made me *know* was the first time I took a micro-bio class, and really saw the crazy way that nature all fits/works together, down to the smallest cell. (nerd alert! nerd alert!)
i'll delurk.
one of these days i'm going to send you something for true employee confessions.
but for the moment, what makes me know G-d is real is the unconditional love of my friends and family.
Mine is something close to Metalia's. Trees - the way they're so beautifully green in the summer, then turn yellow/orange/red in the fall. That the photosynthesis is a necessary thing for the tree to live, but at the same time it's so gorgeous. Then that always leads to nature and us and how everything just works.
I'm a total geek/nerd girl :)
I don't think I really count as a lurker, but here is a comment for you anyway.
I know it's rather banal, but the beauty and magnificence of nature does it for me every time.
I really blew the big one at delurking week (Do I count? I'm a daily daily DAILY reader who comments sometimes, but would more, but for the magic that is Google Reader)
I don't know what convinced me - probably how bizarrely everything seems to just work out for those who don't take life for granted. Life, even at its hardest, can be pretty charmed if we look hard enough.
I can't say that think or know God exists, but it comes close for me when I see a ribbon of birds waving across the sky.
yeah, my dogs make me believe in god, too. especially when they get off scott-free after pooping on the ottoman.
miracles.
